History

Phoenix Rescue Services was established in 1996 to provide Rescue and Extrication Services for Motor Sport events. Phoenix like most Rescue Units is not a source of employment and does not therefore employ any personnel; all members hold down full time jobs and contribute time and effort as a weekend 'hobby'. Collectively the crew is probably one of the most experienced around with over 100 years practical motor racing marshalling experience between them including a number of MSA accredited training instructors. This level of experience does not mean we can be complacent and just sit back. Quite the contrary, Phoenix is always looking to bring on new trainees and to expand its operating base of licensed crew. We also spend quite some time assessing potential extrication equipment and new techniques.

One of the objectives of Phoenix is to provide a value for money first class reliable service. Being small and independent means that we do not have the overheads and bureaucracy of some of the major car club rescue units, we can therefore be a little more flexible in approach with organising clubs. The downside of this is that we do not have the funds available to us that some units have and therefore all money earned from events is ploughed into the purchase, servicing and general preparation and presentation of the Vehicle, crew, and equipment. Over the years, Phoenix and its members have contributed in the production of National training videos and TV programmes both Regional and National covering differing aspects of Motorsport.
